4G Service Available in Some
Parts of Hopkins County

The long awaited 4G service for cell phones is available in parts of Hopkins County, but cannot be accessed in Sulphur Springs. Reilly Springs, the Yantis area, Ridgeway, Cumby, and Miller Grove  all have 4G access, and even Cooper, Commerce, and Mt. Pleasant have the access, but it is still not available in Sulphur Springs. What is the deal?

I went to the local Verizon Store with the question and was told that, yes, the service is available in parts of Hopkins County and that it is
soon to be available in the Sulphur Springs service area. However, at present time, we are being serviced by the towers and equipment in the Dallas area, but located in the East Texas service area. No, it doesn't make sense, but that is the reason that I was given!

Meanwhile, if you're out "in the country" and can get 4G access on your cell phone you realize a "super" increase in internet speed and much faster access to all of your apps. I was at a basketball game and noticed just how fast the speed was as I accessed all of my phone features. It sure makes you realize the speed issues when you return to Sulphur Springs and are relegated to just the 3G access capabilities.

From the information that I've received, "patience" is the word for all of us....."4G" is coming, but no definite date could be given, when I asked about the service's availability in Sulphur Springs.
