Como-Pickton Consolidated Independent School District will be enrolling any new students to the district weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all three campuses. All new students need to register with the campus secretary.

The following information for each student is needed to register: a birth certificate, Social Security card, shot record and proof of residency. School officials ask parents to please register their children prior to the first day of school.

Seventh graders will need to provide proof of immunizations required at their age level this summer. Shot records should be presented to the Como-Pickton Junior High Secretary Julie Baxter before school starts.

Como-Pickton will hold an orientation meeting for substitute teachers and anyone interested in applying to become a substitute to familiarize them with the school program and to complete forms needed by the business office. The session will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in the high school library. Contact Assistant Superintendent Lydia Walden at 903-488-3671, ext. 3210, for further information.

 

 

 

Como-Pickton Elementary’s "Meet the Teacher" will be held Friday, August 19, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. Parents can bring their child’s school supplies, learn who their child’s teacher will be and see their classroom. They can also fill out lunch forms and school packets to get a jump on the first day formalities.

Junior high will hold a Meet the Teacher event from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.
