Lady Cats Take Victory in District Opener

The Lady Cat Basketball Team opened District competition on Friday night, with a solid performance before a hometown crowd, as they defeated Pine Tree, 44-33, to claim victory.

The Lady Cats took an early 4-0 lead in the game, but saw a "fiesty" Pine Tree team come back with two shots and a free throw, to move ahead. However, the Lady Cats "warmed up" and once again took the lead, and continued to lead throughout the match, as they played a solid game of both good defense and shooting in the bucket.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Game stats are as follows:

 

Sulphur Springs   12  10  15  7  = 44

Pine Tree              10   9   10  6  = 33

 

Lady Cat Scoring: Desi Mosley 25, Kasey Moore 10, Destiny Wade 5, Sarah Womack 2, Shakojia Debase 2.

 

The Lady Cat Junior Varsity also defeated Pine Tree in their District Opener with a 34-13 victory, playing 6 minute quarters.

 

The Lady Cats will take their game on the road to Marshall, on Tuesday night, and will return to play at home next Friday night, as they host the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers.
