Support Our Campuses and Kids

The Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the kick-off of S.O.C.K. Support Our Campuses and Kids! The Chamber has developed this program for local businesses and organizations to adopt local schools. We created this opportunity for businesses to partner with schools, with the belief that the more our community is involved and invested in our schools, the more successful our schools and children will be. This is not designed to be a "financial" investment, but a "time" investment. Teachers are in desperate need of people who will give their time in many different areas. Some examples might be: Student and classroom mentoring; Reading and listening to students read; Tutoring in Math and Science; Spanish & ESL assistance; School beautification; Assisting in special occasion school events; Opening your business for a field trip; Providing support for teachers and administrators...and the list could go on and on. We believe that everyone has talent, and everyone of the students, teachers, and administrators could benefit from your "talent".

Each business, group or organization that adopts a school will receive a sign in front of their business indicating that they are a S.O.C.K. supporter and each campus will receive a sign that indicates which businesses have adopted them. Each volunteer will also have to complete a form and be cleared through security before being allowed on campus.
