ABC Autoplex Toy Run Makes
Christmas Bright for Local Children
by: Bobby McDonald
What began with a beautiful ride through the countryside at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, ended with fun, games, great food, and most importantly, the collection of hundreds of toys for local children, to make the holidays bright! It was the 11th Annual Hollie Swatsell Toy Run, hosted by ABC Autoplex. The annual event, always the second Saturday in November, collects the toys to make certain that local children will have a merry Christmas.
However, along the way a number of volunteers cook brisket, chili, and hot dogs, donate their time to provide music, and when the cyclist return a number of games are played, to the delight of the crowd.
"We always look forward to the day, so that we can help local children have a Christmas," expressed Polly Swatsell, owner of ABC Autoplex. "It's just our contribution to making the holiday season bright for those who might not have a Christmas. After all, Christmas is for children and to increase the spirit of giving!"
"It just seems that the event continues to grow," expressed Ronnie Parish, with ABC Autoplex. "Everyone enjoys coming to Sulphur Springs, riding through the country, and cyclist have some of the biggest hearts for children!"
