Hopkins County 4-H Paper Recycle Project Big Success

Thank You! all the people in the community, 4-H members and leaders! Our 2006 Hopkins County 4-H Paper Recycle Project has been a huge success thus far. Just since January, 2006 we have delivered over 13,560 lbs of newspaper to Corrugated Services LP in Garland, Texas.

The paper and newspaper that has been collected by 4-H members, and residence of Hopkins County will be transformed into useful products such as cardboard boxes, and not fill our land fill, or pollute the air by being burned.

I would like to mention a few that have contributed more than the common daily household quantity of paper to this project. Courtney & Jacob Neal have been very successful in keeping their Mom and Dad busy with this project. In February and March Jackie, Cortney and Jacob Neal have delivered over 2,200 lbs of paper. WOW! This is over one ton of paper for the project

Next people in the community have taken this recycle project very serious. Ms. Betty Michell has also contributed thousands of lbs of paper for this project. Thank you for helping the Hopkins County 4-H with this project.

Next, I would like to thank the Miller Grove 4-H and the Miller Grove School for their assistance to this project. They have also contributed hundreds of lbs. of paper to help reach that goal of 2,006 bundles 1 ft tied bundles.

The 13,560 lbs of paper delivered to the recycle center, represents some 388 bundles thus far toward reach our goal of 2,006.
