"Bait and Switch"
"The Futile Pursuit of the American Dream"

by: Barbara Ehrenreich

You may remember Ehrenreich's "Nickel and Dimed" account of what it is like to work and live in poverty in the United States. She went "undercover" and worked in minimum wage jobs to gather material for her former book. Well, she's at it again! Ehrenreich arms herself with a resume, hires her a career coach, and goes "under cover" again, in the Middle-Class sector of our country.

Follow the author as she attempts to find a job in Middle Class America, armed with all of the "right stuff," but still facing the same trials and tribulations that serious job hunters face, as they try to regain a "toe hold" in the work force, once they have received a "pink slip." Ehrenreich shows the difficulty of finding work in the new economy and offers insight into the process of getting gainfully employed in a world where major corporations are "downsizing" and "de-layering" their staffs.

"Beat the streets" with Ehrenreich, as she goes on serious journey into the workplace, but still manages to find some humor in her experiences.

A great read for both the employer and the employee, and especially for anyone interested in finding a job or hiring an employee!

You're sure to find some successful strategies in this remarkable read, about America's workforce!
