FRIENDSHIP CAKE
by
Lynne Hinton

Five women from the Hope Springs Community Church in North Carolina undertake the
committee assignment of producing a church cookbook, but learn a plethora of
attributes about their community, each other, and more importantly, about
themselves. When novice pastor, Charlotte Stewart, finishes her studies at the
seminary, she isn't prepared for the every day life of a minister, but soon
finds herself faced with the broad spectrum of racial prejudice, teen pregnancy,
the death of a child, and numerous other conflicts that beset her flock of
believers in the rural town.

Come share the recipes, the committee reports, and the Christian
faith of the Hope Springs Community Church, where the unconventional and the
traditional must find a path of coexistence within the bounds of Christian love.
You'll laugh out loud----You'll cry bitter tears-----And, you'll rejoice in the
triumphs of steadfast hearts.

This is a heartwarming novel that offers a degree
of hope for the diversity that many of us find we must embrace in the world, today.
And, it chronicles the changing face of rural America, as we strive to expand our
comfort zones, and deal with inevitable change.

A sound read that makes the reader address some of the tough issues that are
creeping into our society and forces one to ponder the correct way to deal with
them.
