Cumby Powerlifter, Brandon Jones, received a "royal send-off" from Cumby as he went to compete in Saturday's State Powerlifting Tournament. Students, teachers, and community representatives lined the streets as Jones and his coaches made the trip to Abiliene.

 

 

And, Jones, who is a veteran of state competition, didn't disappoint his many fans back home in Cumby, as he placed 8th in state competition and made his best bench press to gain the title of the #1 in his weight class in the state of Texas. He did his personal best in the deadlift, and brought home 8th place in State!
