DBA Car Show Attracts Crowd, Saturday

"They're what dreams are made of!" exclaimed one attendee at Saturday's Annual DBA Classic Car Show. "They remind you of special times and special people that you enjoyed in years gone by!"

"My granddaddy had a truck just like that, and we'd ride to town with him!" added another. "I can almost see him standing there beside the truck and waiting on us to load-up!"

Saturday's annual Downtown Business Alliance Car Show and the Corvette Club's Annual Display covered the entire downtown and gave those headed to the stew contest an opportunity for viewing before and after eating a bowl of stew. "It was great having the two events together," expressed Rita Edwards, one of the Car Show organizers. "However, it's tough on all the volunteers here in Hopkins County as there is just so many volunteers and we had them 'spread pretty thin' on Saturday, to pull this off!"

A great crowd was in attendance at the Car Show as they enjoyed viewing the cars and trucks on display, and there were a record number of exhibitors who brought their classic entries to town. "We had exhibitors from all across the state and from out-of-state, that came to Hopkins County to participate in this Car Show," allowed Edwards. "It just seems to grow more and more each year, and the wonderful autumn weather made for a really nice day!"
