"Catching The Hope"
For Alzheimers

Folks all across Hopkins County are "catching the hope" for Alzheimers, as the 2007 Campaign spreads across the area. A number of groups and organizations have hosted min-walks, throughout Hopkins County, to raise money for the American Alzheimer's Association, hoping that through research moneys that they can find a cure!
The Annual Alzheimer's Walk will be conducted at Buford Park, on Thursday, October 4th, beginning at 5:00 p.m., according to Deanna Landers, one of this year's campaign workers.
"We'll be presenting awards, conducting a candle lighting ceremony, in memory of those who have been afflicted by the disease, and walking the traditional laps to raise funds and awareness," inserted Jackie Thornton, Chairman of this year's Mini-Walks."

"We've done extremely well with the Mini-Walks," expressed Thornton. "This year there has been competition between several of the nursing homes, to see which one could collect the most funds, so we've been able to raise more for the campaign, and that benefits everyone!"

These Hopkins County residents participated in the Mini-Walk that was
conducted at the Senior Citizen's Center, on September 27th.
Campaign workers invite everyone out to Buford Park, on Thursday night, to "catch the hope" and raise both funds and awareness to a disease that afflicts people of all ages, across Hopkins County and the nation. "All anyone has to experience is a loved one with the disease, to become involved," expressed Landers. "Then, you know just how important it is to search for a cure, for this debilitating disease, that destroys the memory of its victims!"
