On Tropical Luau

The Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee met on Friday afternoon, and the focus was a Tropical Luau, as that will be the theme for this year's 2013 Chamber Banquet, scheduled for Thursday, February 21st. The event will be hosted in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center and the committee is working on decorations that will complement the remodeled facility, to plan a pleasant and surprising evening for you.

Birthwright Catering will cater the event and the meal will complement the theme, with choices of chicken and pork tenderloin, rice, green beans, Mandarin orange salad, rolls, and a choice of pineapple or banana cake for dessert.

"We have quite a few surprises for the audience, this year," allowed Meredith Caddell, Chamber CEO. "Remember the contortionist from last year? Well, think that, maybe in a luau setting, and possibly with some audience participation!"

One of the highlight of the year, the Chamber of Commerce Banquet is always a fun night of entertainment and the announcing of the award winners in each of the selected categories, with the naming of the Citizen of the Year, as the climax.

Tickets for this year's event are $25.00 each and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce Office. If you business can accommodate a table of 10, those are being reserved for $300.00, so you can have reserved seating. So, gather you friends and reserve a table for a special night of fun!

As in the past, the Chamber Banquet Committee will be busy in the next three weeks, crafting outstanding decorations, planning the program, and getting everything ready for an outstanding night of awards and recognition in Hopkins County. Make plans to attend.

Who knows what they will have "on tap" for this year's program?
