"In the Heart of Hopkins County"
Chamber Banquet Next Thursday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
If you haven't purchased your tickets for the 84th Annual Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Banquet, next Thursday night, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, you better get busy! The deadline is fast approaching!
The banquet, somewhat like the "Academy Awards of Hopkins County," will feature a theme, this year, of "In the Heart of Hopkins County," that reflects the many activities that the Chamber of Commerce is involved with promoting business, hosting festivals, and making certain that Hopkins County is known throughout the state of Texas.

A host of local citizens will be honored for giving that "extra-special" touch to the work that they do in Hopkins County, when the "Citizen of the Year," "Agriculturalist of the Year," "Lady of the Year," and numerous other awards to individuals and businesses are announced.
"It's our opportunity, as citizens of Hopkins County, to recognize those people who give so much to our community," related Meredith Caddell, Chamber of Commerce CEO. "It's suppose to be a night for recognizing individuals who care so much about Hopkins County, and for everyone to relax and have a great time, visiting and associating with other local citizens. It's been a tradition in Hopkins County since 1926!"
"And, the food is going to be great too!" exclaimed Jackie Thornton, President of the Chamber of Commerce Board for 2010. "Sandi Wallace and her crew at Plain and Fancy will be offering roast beef and rosemary chicken, with all the trimmings, as well as delicious Red Velvet cake, to get everyone in the mood!"
"Make plans to join us next Thursday night!" invited Thornton and Caddell, on Friday morning. "But, you better hurry and get your tickets, because the seating is limited and we're right at capacity now!"
