What are they Planning For This Year?
Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee
by: Bobby McDonald
They've brought us local football legend, Forrest Gregg, they've brought us a contortionst under the big top, and you name it, the Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee always "pulls something out of the hat" to make the annual event one of the most fun nights in Sulphur Springs each year. Well, they met on Tuesday, for the first time, to plan this year's banquet, scheduled for February 14, 2013.
Traditionally, if the banquet was being held on St. Valentine's Day, you'd think that it would be something relating to "hearts, candy, etc." But, they definitely told us that they had something else, spectacular, in mind. They aren't revealing the theme, just yet, to keep you waiting, until you receive your invitation, sometime in January!

But, it's not too early to be marking your calendar for spending that night as a spectacular evening in Sulphur Springs. And, it is time for you to start submitting your nominations for Citizen of the Year, Woman of the Year, Educator of the Year, Community Pride Awards, Agriculturalist of the Year, Caregiver of the Year, and other awards that will be presented to deserving citizens and businesses in Hopkins County.
Circle February 14th in your calendar and make plans to be at the newly refurbished Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, to spend a spectacular evening of fun and excitement!
Mike Horne will chair this year's committee, with Meredith Caddell, Lynda Hager, Bob Weaver, Bobby McDonald, Polly Swatsell, Carolyn McKinney, Glenda Bassham, Jackie Thornton, Judy Gregg, and Scott Brown.
