What Are They Planning?
Chamber Banquet Committee Makes
Trip to Dallas
by: Bobby McDonald
A majority of the Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee members were "spied" on a trip to Dallas, as they stopped at Bill Ried's staging and several other places to see about things for this year's 2013 Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Banquet, scheduled for February 21st. "We were just getting ideas!" allowed Meredith Caddell. "We're looking at all kinds of possibilities and going to be working under some new conditions, as the Civic Center will be newly refurbished and there will be some restrictions on what we can use to prepare the hall for something spectacular!"
"Remember the contortionists last year?" continued Caddell. "We'll we're looking at something just as spectacular, but on an entirely different theme!"
Caddell and her "crew" of volunteers that always work on the banquet, aren't revealing the theme, just yet, as they are keeping everyone guessing and building anticipation for always well attended event. "It's one of the largest attended events in Hopkins County each year, and we're looking forward to bringing something very fun and entertaining to the public, again this year!" allowed Caddell. "With the seasoned crew I have working on this event each year, you know how creative they can be, so everyone is in for a real treat, once again! Everyone needs to get ready for a great evening of entertainment and naming the outstanding citizens of Hopkins County!"
Everyone is encouraged to contact Caddell about making nominations for the various awards that are presented at the Chamber Banquet each year. Nominations need to be made quickly so that those deserving people can be recognized for their outstanding efforts on behalf of Hopkins County.
And, mark your calendars for February 21, 2013 to attend this year's spectacular event. Tickets will go on sale shortly after the beginning of the New Year!
