Chamber Banquet Preparations
Begin Tuesday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
Preparations for Thursday night's annual Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Banquet "kicked into high gear" on Tuesday night, as the committee began transforming the exhibit hall of the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center into a tropical paradise for attendees pleasure. "Everyone should expect a pleasant evening, in a tropical setting and when we recognize those people in our community that have made special contributions to our community," allowed Chamber CEO Meredith Caddell, as she helped direct decorating of the Civic Center.
"This is kind of like the Hopkins County Academy Awards, as we receive a number of nominations for each of the awards and those who have gone above and beyond, are selected each year as the winners," continued Caddell. "It creates excitement and everyone wants to come out and see who the winners are!"

Thursday night's event will featured a meal catered by Andy and Marylou Wright's Birthwright Catering and will accompany the tropical theme.
"Remember the contortionists that appeared last year?" warned Polly Swatsell, a member of the Banquet Committee. "Well, expect some very entertaining presentations for this year's event!"

Meanwhile, committee members are working hard to complete the banquet hall preparations and will be ready for Thursday night's event, with a delightful evening of entertainment and recognition!
