The 86th Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet “Greatest County on Earth”-February 9th

Mark your calendars NOW for the “Greatest Show on Earth” honoring the “Greatest County on Earth”  The Chamber of Commerce will host the 86th Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Thursday, February 9th at 6:30 pm at the Civic Center.  The theme this year will be a circus theme so everyone can dress as though they were attending a circus.  And of course, as you can imagine…you never know what you will see Under the Big Top.  Tickets are available now at the Chamber for only $20 which includes a catered meal of pork tenderloin, brisket, potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert.  Please call the Chamber at 903-885-6515 to order tickets.  There will be limited seating so get your order in today!  The deadline is Wednesday, February 1st.

Have you honored the important Veteran in your family?  If not, the deadline is March 1, 2012

Hopkins County's veterans will be genuinely and permanently honored in a classic and beautiful way, and more people from outside our area will visit, bringing with them dollars to be spent with local merchants.

You may take your completed application to CNB in care of Sam Johnson or to the Chamber of Commerce at 300 Connally Street or to Pam Elliot at 220 Connally Street.  All names that are sponsored and submitted by March 1st will be placed on the wall in the first engraving.  It is very important that everyone visit www.hcvm.org to check to see if their loved one is listed and also that all of the information is correct.  If you don’t have a computer, you may call either Ruth Davis at 903-885-4260, Clayton McGraw at 903-885-1551, Robert Carpenter at 903-885-2410 or Leesa Toliver 903-885-8965 and they will help you.  Also, they would like to encourage everyone to “like their Facebook page as a way to keep up with the progress on the memorial.  www.facebook.com/pages/Hopkins-County-Veterans-Memorial.

If you want to honor a veteran who has no direct connection to Hopkins County, or just to show your support and appreciation, consider buying a customized brick "paver" for the walkway for $300. You determine what goes on the paver, the committee can provide a certificate suitable for framing to give the honoree, and the funds raised help build the memorial.

Please forgive me as I left out some pertinent information about Home System Security last time!

HSS has been providing security and home system services for residential and commercial businesses for 30 years.  Home Systems was founded by Doug Palmer in 1981 and in 2011 Doug and his wife Carol opened the Sulphur Springs Office as HSS Home System Security.  They are a state licensed and insured security service provider that services all of NE Texas.

They service many types of businesses and applications in both provider and end-user environments.  They work with home builders, commercial builders, homeowners and corporate and retail facilities.

The residential and commercial services include security systems, surveillance, camera systems, land-line and cellular monitoring services, central vacuum systems, intercoms and low-voltage wiring and builder pre-wiring services.  For more information call 903-885-HELP (4357) or visit their website at www.hss-homesys.com.

Are your business cards and brochures on display at the Chamber of Commerce?

If you are a member of the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, we will gladly display your business cards or brochures in our office so that all of our visitors may see them.  If you would like more information, call us at 903-885-6515 or just drop them off at our office at 300 Connally Street.

The Chamber will be distributing a new map, published by Liberty Marketing.

We have had many phone calls, so I wanted to let you know that Judge Brown has commissioned Liberty Marketing to create a new Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Como/Pickton and Cumby map.  Liberty Marketing is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, so we will be distributing these maps at the Chamber along with the city/county map from Echo Publishing.  If you have any questions, please call us at 903-885-6515/

Support 412Kids!

Several children from Sulphur Springs are involved in a mission project to help provide clean water for the kids and families of Chadirac, Haiti and they need your help.  You may purchase an adorable book called “Clean Water Elirose” written by Ariah Fine and illustrated by Don Robb for only $5…or more if you would like.  The books are available at the Chamber of Commerce, Plain & Fancy, Guaranty Bond Bank and CNB.
