It is HOT outside…must be time for the Texas State Champion Homemade Ice Cream Freeze-Off
Entry forms are available for the 11th Annual Texas State Champion Homemade Ice Cream Freeze-Off at the Chamber of Commerce office at 300 Connally Street. The event will take place on Saturday, June 9th at 4:00pm at the Civic Center! Prizes are awarded in three categories: Little Dips (Ages 6-12), Big Dips (Ages 13 and Older) and Super Scoops (Previous first place winners). Entries will be judged in the following categories: Plain (Chocolate or Vanilla), Fruit (Single Ingredient Fruit) and Novelty (Mixed Ingredients). So start figuring out your favorite recipe and submit it for entry in the contest. And, by the way…there is NO ENTRY FEE!!! For more information, please call 903-885-6515.
The Community Players, Inc presents The Sunshine Boys, May 10, 11 & 12 @ 7:00pm
Make plans now to attend Neil Simon’s The Sunshine Boys directed by Brenda Payne, presented by the Community Players. Join the Hopkins County Healthcare Foundation as they stop and smell the roses at the 3rd Annual “Music in the Gardens”, Thursday evening, May 10th from 5:30-7:00pm in The Gardens at memorial. Donor recognition and featuring Music by Ms. Senior Hopkins County, Betty Caudle. Please bring your lawn chairs and plan to relax and enjoy music and fellowship with friends and family. Heritage Christian Counseling Center is holding their 2nd Annual hamburger cook-out on Friday, May 11 on the Methodist Church parking lot between the banks beginning at 11:00. Lunch includes a burger, chips, drink and desert for $5.
