2009 Super Scoop Winner at Ice Cream Freeze-Off—Carlie Penson

Carlie Penson was named the 2009 Texas State Champion Homemade Ice Cream Winner with her recipe of Almond Prailine, while Billy Jack Allen took home the runner-up spot with his Banana Nut ice cream.

Ribbon Cutting at Rebounds, Friday, June 19th at Noon

Freedom Ride & Rally, June 20th—Benefiting H. C. Veteran’s Memorial

The Veteran’s Memorial Group will be hosting a motorcycle rally on Saturday, June 20th.  Registration will be from 8-9am on the Square and the ride will begin at 9:15, then you will return to the square at noon for lunch!  If you have any questions, please contact Vicki Lee at Texas Art and Frame at 903-885-9555.

 

Independence Festival—June 26th and 27th!!!

Friday night, June 26th, bring your lawn chairs down to Main Street for a free concert featuring The Cruz Brothers.  Edgar and Mark Anthony Cruz will be performing together in a rare performance.  If you would like to hear a sample of their music, you may visit edgarcruz.com or markanthonycruz.com.  Music will begin at 7:30pm, so gather up your friends and family, take a stroll down our beautiful new Main Street and enjoy the LIVE music!

 

Just leave your lawn chairs in the car, because you don’t want to miss the Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra Concert and Fireworks celebration on the square, Saturday, June 27 at 7:45pm.  We are so fortunate to have this incredible event on our Downtown Square.  So, once again, call your family and friends, grab your lawn chairs and make your way to the square for a spectacular evening of entertainment.  The Concert, conducted by Dr. Douglas Bakenhus is sponsored by Alliance Bank and the Fireworks are sponsored by Sulphur Springs Vision Center.  Wow…how lucky are we that these two businesses continue to provide this event for our community!
