The newly formed "Chicks for Charity" Organization, held it's third, quarterly dinner, on Thursday night, in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church and chose three charitable organizations to consider for awarding their funds.

Once the delicious meal was observed, members nominated local organizations for consideration, and three were drawn randomly from the basket. Then, those that nominated the organizations spoke for 5 minutes about them, to convince members to vote for their charity. Following a voting canvass of the group, "The Dinner Bell" was selected as this quarter's recipient of the collected funds.

Chicks for Charity had already awarded over $10,000.00 to local organizations, Meal-A-Day and Sulphur Springs Work Camp, in their two previous meetings.

Members of the organization are assessed a $50.00 donation, each quarter, that provide the funds to award a local charity.

A "Western" theme was used for Thursday night's meeting.
