Linda Henton has been proclaimed the Champion Chili Cook in
the past two years, and will once again be defending her title.

 

6th Annual Crockpot Chili Contest
Slated For Saturday

Clean-up the pot and head to the Hopkins County Civic Center, for Saturday night's 6th Annual Hopkins County Crockpot Chili Contest, sponsored by the Hopkins County Sheriff's Posse and benefitting Teen Court and the National Day of the American Cowboy. Chili cooks from all across the county will begin by bringing their three to four quarts of homemade chili, prepared from secret recipes at home, to be judged. Entries must be in place by 5:30 p.m. and accompanied by a $10.00 entry fee.

A panel of well-qualified judges will then taste the chili and declare a winner, by secret ballot.

 

 

 



Meanwhile, a homemade pie contest will be taking place, to declare the best pie cook in Hopkins County!

The public is encourage to attend and pay $5.00 per person to "judge their own best pie and chili confections!" Serving will begin at promptly 6:00 p.m.

 

 

 



Musical entertainment will be provided and a number of prizes awarded.
