What began as a dream, six years ago, after hours of hard work and tender loving care, will become a reality for those seeking a live Christmas tree, this Christmas. Three Oaks Farm, located on Fm-3389, in the Greenview Community of Hopkins County, will be offering a "choose and cut" feature, this year, at the farm. "We've spent hours spraying, shaping, and coloring the trees, so that they will be ready for the opening day, on November 23rd!" expressed Tracy Dannheim, owner. "Despite virtually three years of drought conditions, and a variety of other factors, the trees are ready for the first time!"

Dannheim, as she was busy trimming on a tree, added that they will be featuring a hayride, at the farm, to where families can ride back to the back of the farm, where the trees are located, select their tree and it will be brought to the front, wrapped and bagged, and ready to haul home! "It should be a really fun experience for families looking for a way to get into the Christmas spirit!" added Linda Chester, owner. "We're looking forward to seeing everyone and helping them celebrate the Christmas season!"

Three Oaks Far will be offering both Virgina Pine and Leyland Cypress trees for sale this year. Dannheim explained that many want the Virginia pine, as they seem to be fuller, but others like the shapes of the Leyland Cypress trees and they are great for people who might be allergic to the pines. The Leyland Cypress trees don't have as much of a scent as the more traditional pines do.

Meanwhile, on Monday afternoon, every member of the Chester-Dannheim family was busy working, as they prepared the trees for the upcoming season. Three generations of the family were working to get the trees shaped, trimmed, sprayed, and colored. "We put a coloring on the trees that makes them a deeper green, gives them more durability once they are cut, and helps to keep the life of the tree more longlasting!" advised Dannheim. "And, if the tree isn't selected this year, it serves as a fertilizing compound to make it even prettier the next year."

Dylan Dannheim was also busy using a new trimming device that the farm has just purchased, from Mississippi, that aids in shaping the trees, just to the right shape for your home!

"It's definitely a family affair!" exclaimed Linda Chester. "We all are kept busy, getting them ready, but this is our addition to making Christmas a special time of the year for our many customers, who support us all year!"
