Computer "Crash" Results in Lasting Love

A little over 8 years ago, I was asleep and was awakened with a phone call about 2:30 in the morning.  I answered it with a puzzled “Hello!”, thinking something was wrong.  A soft voice on the other line said, “David…” I reply yes.  Then the lady started telling me how her computer was not working and was asking me if I knew how to fix the problem.  At that time it dawned on me, that the person on the other line was trying to reach my dad and not me.  I explained to her that she had reached the wrong David.  She was so sorry and wanted to hang up but I then explained to her that it was my father she was trying to reach and I would be glad to help.  Come to find out that the lady I was talking to on the phone hardly even knew my dad but was calling for her roommate who worked with my dad.   After finding all this out and trying to help fix her computer problem it was now well in to the morning and I told her that I would not be able to fix it over the phone.  So she asked if I would come by her house that weekend and in return she would take me to dinner after I fixed the problem.

Saturday had arrived and I knocked on her door, a beautiful lady answered the door.  I still remember what she was wearing eight year later.  She was wearing a purple button down collar shirt and some blue jeans. When the door opened I could not believe my eyes.  She stood there in the door way with a very cute smile and said, “David?”.  I replied, “yes, I am here to fix your computer”.  I could not keep my eyes off her while fixing her computer.  Afterwards, Brooke and I as well as two other friends went to eat dinner and then decided to go catch a movie.  Needless to say a few years later she became my wife and today we have 3 beautiful children and on March 16th it will be our 5 year wedding anniversary.

Happy Valentine’s Day to my loving wife - Brooke
