It was a disappointing road trip for the Como-Pickton Eagles and their fans, as they traveled to Quinlan Boles, in neighboring Hunt County, and came back home with a 58-17 loss. The young and smaller Como-Pickton Eagles team were thwarted by a much larger Quinlan Boles team.

The Eagles led the match-up 10-0, following the first period of play. However, Quinlan Boles team answered back with a touchdown, making the score 10-6, early in the second period. Then, the Eagles, on a long drive nailed seven more points, and led the match 17-6, when Tellez connected with receiver Phillip Cox.That would be the last score the young Eagles team would make for the night, as a series of turnovers and a more powerful team took its toll on the team.

The Quinlan Boles Hornets scored four touchdowns in the second period and was in the lead by halftime of their annual Homecoming festivities.

During the third period, the Hornets returned from the locker room with an impressive scoring period, when they scored three more times, during a period fumbles by the Eagles. During the period sophomore back Brandt Steele sufferd a shoulder injury and was transported to a neighboring Greenville Hospital, by ambulance.

The fourth period was another scoreless period for the Eagles as they suffered a Tellez interception and could never manage a come-back over the larger Quinlan Boles Team.

The Eagle rushing game was led by James Carter and a number of receivers contributed to the passing effort for the team.

Next Friday night, October 5th, the Como-Pickton Eagles will host Blue Ridge at Ron Heflin Field, before begining district play on October 12th.
