Como-Pickton Eagles Deliver Best Offensive
Effort of Season, But Not Enough to Overcome
Alba-Golden
by: Bobby McDonald
The Como-Pickton Eagles traveled to Alba-Golden, on Friday night, and turned-in the best offensive performance of the season, scoring 35 points. However, it was not enough to overcome the Alba-Golden Panthers, in the first district game of the season. Alba-Golden won the effort 50-35 to leave the Eagles 0-2 in district play.
The Eagles led the match-up at the end of the first quarter 13-6, but during the second period the Panthers scored two touchdowns and a field goal, and the Eagles could only answer back with one. The Panthers led at halftime 22-20.

Como-Pickton senior standout, Bryce Steele, takes a much needed "breath" during the action. Steele scored
three of the C-P touchdowns and has accumulated almost 1000 yards of offense for the season.

Following the intermission, the high scoring game continued during the second half, with the Eagles scoring another touchdown, during the third period, and adding another trip across the goal line, during the fourth period. But, the Panthers added 28 points of their own, during the second half of the game.
Friday night's loss leaves the Eagles 0-6 for the season and 0-2 in district play.
Still looking for a win, the Eagles will host Edgewood, next week in Ron Heflin Field, at Como-Pickton.
