Winona Mars Como-Pickton
Homecoming Delivering 44-13 Loss
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a pleasant night for football in Ron Heflin Field, at Como-Pickton, and the spirits were high with Homecoming 2012 unfolding before the crowd, after a week of celebration. However, the excitement wasn't enough to overcome the attack of the Winona Wildcats, as they delivered a 44-13 loss to the Eagles. The Wildcats put the first points on the board, early in the 1st quarter, making a 6 point touchdown and failing to make the point after. The Eagles answered back with a quick series of downs and soon lead the game, 7-6.
But the lead was "short-lived" as Winona would lead the match-up 22-7 at the half.
Como-Pickton managed another TD in the second half, and failed on their extra-point attempt and the Wildcats would score 22 more points in the final half, to take home the victory.
