Como-Pickton Observes Homecoming Week

by: Bobby McDonald

It's Homecoming 2012 Week at Como-Pickton School, where students are engaged in a number of activities, that will climax with the naming of the 2012 Homecoming Queen, during halftime activities at Friday night's football game against the Winona Wildcats. Students have named five seniors and a representative of each of the three lower high school classes to the 2012 Homecoming Court, from which one young lady will be chosen for this year's winner, by secret ballot, and revealed on Friday night.

Named to the court this year are: Aldyn Green, Amy Tovar, Elena Ochoa, Keeley Dewitt, and Maddie Windham seniors; and Marlena Ledesman, Junior Class Representative; Stephanie Jaco, Sophomore Class Representative; and Samaira Lewis, Freshman Class Representative.

Each day of this week students are participating in a "dress up" day to promote school spirit, with Tuesday being "Camo Day." Then, on Friday, classes and organizations throughout the school will participate in a "wagon parade," where they will decorate a children's wagon promoting school spirit, and the winner will be named. Friday afternoon's pep rally will continue the Homecoming celebration, and the coronation will be during the football game. The night ends with the traditional Homecoming Dance, following the game.

Student at Como-Pickton invite members of the community, former Como-Pickton students, and teachers to come participate in this week's activities, and help them celebrate the week of activities!

Cheerleaders and staff at Como-Pickton have decorated halls and windows with the Homecoming theme
and are celebrating themed days, each day of this week. One of these lovely ladies will be crowned
2012 Como-Pickton Homecoming Queen, at Friday night's football game, in coronation ceremonies.
