Como-Pickton Hosts Kindergarten Graduation,
Wednesday Morning

by: Bobby McDonald

As in most other area schools, Como-Pickton hosted their annual 2012 Kindergarten graduation exercises, at 8:30 a.m., on Wednesday morning. Students who had completed the requirements were paraded before doting parents and grandparents, as they received a token diploma, that signifies their completion of this milestone in their lives. And, if you ever thought it was insignificant, you just didn't see the smiling faces, on Wednesday morning! These kids were "beaming!"

"I really don't know if he's excited about getting this diploma, or if it is that he can sleep late through the summer," commented one observing grandparent, as she witnessed her grandson's giant smile. "He still don't like to get up early!"

And one can only marvel at the many, many changes that the "Class of 2024" will see during their secondary twelve years of education, in both the classroom and in the world! Will they be using I-phones to do their studies, or will those be so obsolete, that they've forgotten what they were? Will they even have a teacher in a classroom, or will be they be doing a majority of their classes on-line with long-distance learning? What kind of test will they have to take to graduate? Will some of them graduate in 8? 10? or even 6 years? And, what kind of jobs will they be preparing for, when they graduate?

Yes, this class certainly faces a number of challenges and changes, as they embark on an elementary, middle school, and high school education!

But, no one was prouder of their accomplishments, on Wednesday morning and many certainly weren't aware of anything that they couldn't face!

A tearful Amy Tanton thanked her students, their parents, and her fellow
