Como-Pickton Hosts Mini-Float Parade
to Promote Homecoming Spirit
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a fun Friday at Como-Pickton School as classes decorated eleven mini-floats to boost Homecoming Spirit. The eleven floats were judges by a panel of non-school personnel, and if you don't believe it as a hard, hard choice, then you should have been one of the judges. The class projects were presented to the judges on Friday morning, in the school gym, and were to be presented at the Homecoming Pep Rally, Friday afternoon, when awards would be presented.
The Homecoming activities will begin at 7:30 p.m. with kick-off of the football match-up between the Como-Pickton Eagles and the Winona Wildcats. The 2012 Como-Pickton High School Homecoming Queen will be announced at halftime, of the game, and a Homecoming Dance will follow.
Enjoy these mini-floats that were pesented to judges on Friday morning:

And, it was on Thursday that teachers and students dressed as their favorite Disney characters. Two of the "award winning" groups are below:

Assistant Superintendent, Lydia Walden, dressed as Snow White and
had her seven dwarfs. And, isn't that Prince Charming on the front row?

And, the Jr. High Staff and students dressed as Cruella deVil and her 101 dalmations!
