Como-Pickton Eagles Remain
Winless After Trip to Clarksville
by: Bobby McDonald

It was like the Biblical story, David and Goliath, when the Como-Pickton Eagles traveled to the district leading Clarksville Tigers' home field on Friday night. The young Eagles team that has struggled all season because of youth and size, faced the district undefeated Tigers, that had been averaging over 40 point per game in Class 2A play. And, Friday night was no exception when they delivered a 61-6 blow to the Eagles.

The only Eagles score was on a run by quarterback Matthew Sharp, who made a 12 yard sprint into the end zone, for the score. The PAT was no good and left the Eagles with only six points for the night.

The Eagles offense did accumulate over 200 yards (213) with 116 of them added by senior Bryce Steele who continued his string of 100 yards plus games for the season.

The Eagles will host Rivercrest next Friday, as they host Senior Night at Como-Pickton and name the annual Football Sweetheart.
