Cross Country Cowboy Church
Hosts Handicapable Rodeo, Saturday
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a day of excitement, fun, and activities for a group of people that many, many times are limited to special days, as the Cross Country Cowboy Church, on Saturday, hosted a Handicapable Rodeo, complete with horses, games, and entertainment of all kinds. The offering included fun, food and fellowship for the handicapped individuals and their care providers and even featured a dunkin' booth and a petting zoo!
"It's just one of those things that we wanted to do, to provide fun for some individuals that don't always have the opportunity to have fun," expressed one of the organizers and church members. "So, so many times the rest of us take doing these things for granted, and seldom do we stop and think of the responsibility that many of these caregivers have on their shoulders each and every day, many times 24 hours per day!"
Saturday's event was certainly a success and lasted from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and was well attended as horseback rides seemed to be one of the most popular events, and by afternoon, the guy in the dunkin' booth had the coolest job around, when someone hit the target and splashed him into the water!
