Cumby Celebrates Homecoming Week
With Annual Parade and Bonfire
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a night of celebration and making memories in Cumby, on Wednesday night as Cumby High School hosted their annual Homecoming Parade and Bonfire. The parade began at 7:00 p.m. and featured representatives from all of the school organizations, football teams, and cheerleaders, as they wound their way through town and made their way to the site of the annual bonfire.
"The homecoming parade and bonfire are part of Cumby tradition," expressed the seniors as they waited for the honor lighting this year's bonfire. "We worked all week collecting lumber and materials for the bonfire and it's just something that we've looked forward to since we were in elementary school!"
The class of 2013 prepares to ignite this year's bonfire.....
Each day at school the students have carried out a theme of dressing for school spirit and the week's activities will culminate with the naming of the new Homecoming King and Queen, during the Trojans vs Trenton Football Game, Friday night. The game will be followed by the annual Homecoming dance.
