Cumby Firefighters Honored at
Dinner and Program, Monday Night

Cumby Beta Club member, Arsenio Ugalde, welcomes Firefighters, their families, and
guests to Monday night's tribute to the Cumby Firefighters.
October is Fire Prevention and Awareness Month! And, associated with the awareness, members of the Junior-Senior Beta Club, the Cumby Elementary National Honor Society, and the Cumby High School and Junior High Student Councils, all school service organizations, joined forces, on Monday night, to honor the Cumby Fireman and their families. The groups hosted a spaghetti dinner, honoring the firemen and sold tickets to the event to raise money for the local firefighting unit.
"It's our way to show our appreciation to the men and women who give so much to our community, as volunteers, to keep our community and property protected in case of a fire," advised sponsors of the event. "You certainly hope you never need their services, but they are ready and willing to train, take time away from their families, and be 'on call' 24/7 to keep us protected!"

Monday night's event was hosted in the School Cafeteria and featured recognitions, a "fireman's rap" for entertainment, and the room was decorated with a number of cards of thanks and displays that honored the firefighters.
