Cumby Trojans Fall
to Maud Cardinals
by: Bobby McDonald
Stats from Coach James Johsnon

The Cumby Trojans hosted the Maud Cardinals in their next to the last district game of the season, on a cold windy night in Cumby, Friday night. And, the results on the field was about as "dismal" as the weather, when the Cardinals left town with a 38-6 win, and left the Trojans out of the play-off picture for the season.

"It just seemed that the Trojans couldn't get anything going in their favor and if they did, there would be a penalty to negate any progress that was made," related one fan. "And, the same results happened throughout the game."
The Cardinals held the Trojans scoreless until the fourth quarter, when they finally made it across the goal line for a score, but then failed to connect on the extra point.

Trojan kicking ace, Charley Potts was well within his range for field goals a number of times during the game, but he was "bitten" by the same bug, and failed to connect on any of this attempts.

The Trojans will go back to the drawing board and work toward next season, following their final game, next week, in Union Hill.
