Cumby Football Ends Season
With Victory in Union Hill
by: Bobby McDonald
With and open date on next Friday night, the Cumby Trojans traveled to Union Hill for the final game of their season, on Friday night and brought home a decisive 47-33 victory for seniors and fans. It was a long road trip for the Trojans but not so far, as they came back with the victory.
The Trojans came out in an explosive first quarter scoring twenty points, but Union Hill scored thirteen points of their own, in the fray. Union Hill "shut down" the Trojan offense in the second quarter, and came within one point of the Trojans by the halftime intermission.
However, it was the "never give up" motto of the Trojans that carried them in the third quarter, as they put twenty-one more points on the board, during the period. A fourth quarter "scamper" across the goal line, in the final quarter of play, put the "icing on the cake," for a Trojan victory.
