At Cumby High School, Friday

Cumby High School paused in a busy, busy spring schedule, on Friday morning, to honor the State Champion Cumby Lady Trojans Powerlifting Team and Brandon Jones, who qualified for state competition. "It makes me proud to be your superintendent," exclaimed Cumby ISD Superintendent,  Lance Campbell.  "But, what I'm most proud of is the many, many hours of work and dedication on your part, that this award represents, because there is no one else in your category in the state of Texas, that has worked any harder!"

Coach Gary Parrish, who coached the youth came forward and stressed, "We set our goals and you students have lived up to that goal and brought home the first state title to Cumby High School. Your example will continue to inspire others, who now know that someone from Cumby can be a State Champion!"

Parrish introduced each of the Lady Trojans, Breanna Gay, Courtney Salinas, Kayla Akers, Molly Nance, Breanna Stone, and Krystin Krodle.

Brandon Jones, the lone state qualifying Trojans was also recognized for his high placement in the state meet!

Congratulations Cumby!!!!
