Kristin Krodle and Colton Speights received the Cumby Fighting Heart Awards.
It was a night of Trojan Spirit and celebration, in Cumby, on Monday night, as the annual Trojan Athletic Banquet was hosted at 6:30 p.m., by the Trojan Athletic Booster Club. An Italian meal was served with choices of spaghetti, lazagna, and chicken alfredo, garlic bread, salad, and homemade desserts.
Named as the top athletes for 2011-12 were two well-deserving seniors, who participated in numerous sports and excelled in all of them. Named as the Top Male Athlete was senior Brandon Heer, that despite receiving a basketball injury, he continues to be a member of the Trojan Baseball Team, headed into the play-offs, this weekend. And, it was multi-talented Courtney Salinas, who has participated in all female sports, that was named Top Female Athlete for 2011-12.
Tapped for the "Fighting Heart Awards" at Cumby High School, for their outstanding examples on the court and field, were senior, Krystin Krodle, and junior, Colton Speights.

and Anthony Ringenberg - Defensive MVP.
Cross Country Male MVP was Chanler Waters.
Cross Country Female MVP was Grace Campbell.
Sited for All-State Academic Volleyball were: Valerie Partridge, Courtney Crumpton, and
Chasity Nottingham.
Lady Trojan Volleyball Awards were presented to l to r, Breanna Gay - Outstanding Blocker, Courtney Crumpton - Outstanding Setter,
and Demi Newsom - Outstanding Hitter.

Lady Trojan Basketball Awards were presented to Breanna Gay - Offensive MVP, and Grace Campbell - Defensive MVP
Male Powerlifting Awards were presented to l to r, Reece Walker - Most Improved, and Brandon Jones - Top Lifter.
From the State Winning Lady Trojan Powerlifting Team, l to r, Kayla Akers was named Most Improved, and Molly Nance was Named Top Lifter.
In Trojan Baseball, Jordan Strickland received the "Big Stick" Award, and Colton Speights and Charle Potts reveived the MVP Award.
In Lady Trojan Softball, Courtney Crumpton was named MVP for the Year
and not pictured, Courtney Salinas was named for the "Big Stick" Award.

In Trojan Track, it was Brandon Heer that was selected for the MVP Runner, and Brandon Jones for MVP Field.
In Lady Trojan Track, it was Grace Campbell that was named MVP Runner, and Taylor Gifford named MVP in Field.
Bailey Braddock was selected for the Jr. High Cheerleader Spirit Award.
Chasity Nottingham was named for the "Spirit Award" among the High School Cheerleaders.

Each of the Senior Athletes named one of their teachers for the "Golden Apple Award"
as being the teacher that had influenced them the most, during their school career. A
number of the teachers were selected for their influence.
