"D-Day Rally"
Opens Cooper For Congress Campaign,
Saturday
by: Bobby McDonald

Supporters signed a petition to elect Cooper to Congress.

American flags waved and a small crowd of supporters gathered in front of the Hopkins County Courthouse, to hear Dr. John Cooper, Hopkins County Candidate for the U.S. Congress, open his campaign from the courthouse steps, at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday morning. "The crowd may be small but the message is urgent!" exclaimed Cooper, as he explained his reasons for running for public office. "Voters must realize that our American freedoms can be eroded! What does it take for your to be interested?"
Dr. Cooper, a land surveyor for many years in Hopkins County, paralleled his surveying business to great political leaders George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. "All of these statesmen were once land surveyors, so possibly there is something within the profession to offer the public," acknowledged Cooper. "I'll allow that our campaign is simple and it is Biblical. It offers a 'grass-roots' efforts of the people letting Washington know that we're tired of the status quo!"
Cooper likened his campaign to the historic people who landed on the shores of Normandy, 65 years ago, in what became known as D-Day. "We need to fight for the rights of the individual that our soldiers shed their blood to protect!" proclaimed Cooper to the applause of the crowd.

Some of Cooper's supporters arrived with signs of protest at the way government is running our
country.
Cooper outline that with 9.4% unemployment in the nation, American homes being foreclosed, many, many with no medical insurance coverage, and many's 401K's being destroyed, many Americans are wondering who is going to bail them out!
He cited that 81% of the American public was dissatisfied with the U.S. government's performance.
"It's time for Americans to rally for what they believe in and stand up for their rights!" stated Cooper.

Dr. Cooper speaks to the crowd via the Courthouse steps, as American
flags wave in Saturday morning's winds.
"I favor term limits on Congressional Representatives," expressed Cooper. "Three terms should be plenty and then a new group of American citizens could be voted into office with fresh new ideas that come from the people!"

Cooper plans to seek the U.S. Congressional seat currently held by Representative Ralph Hall and was asking for both support and signings of a petition to electing him to office, on Saturday morning, as he runs under the auspices for the Republican Party.
