Former Hopkins County Dairy Festival Queen, Morna Harry Moss, enjoys visiting with other former
queens at the reception hosted in honor of former queens, prior to Saturday night's pageant.
As expected, it was a "packed" crowd in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center for Saturday night's Golden Anniversary Dairy Festival Pageant, that featured the naming of the 50th Anniversary Queen and introduced all of the previous 51 ladies that had served in that capacity. "I wouldn't have missed it for the world!" exclaimed one former queen, as she attended the reception, held in the Civic Center Lobby, before the pageant. "It's an opportunity to visit with friends, renew old acquaintances, and be a part of the history of my hometown! You seldom get opportunities like that!"

And, it was 24 "tiny tots" that were on parade for Saturday night's
Dairy Festival pageant, representing the future of Dairy Festival.

Saturday night's program began with an introduction by Hopkins County Dairy Festival Board Presient, Gena Prickette, who shortly turned the program over to veteran Dairy Festival Master of Ceremonies, John Ginn. Ginn entertained the audience throughout the night, and indicated that undoubtedly he had become a "permanent" fixture with Dairy Festival, considering just how many queens he remembered since he had been directing the pageant.

The program was long, with the introduction of former queens, but the anticipation built, as eight talented young ladies presented their talent and beauty segments before the out of town judges, as they vyed for the title of the 50th Anniversary Queen. "I've never seen such outstanding talent, as these young ladies presented tonight," expressed a former queen. "I would have been hard-pressed to have named a winner, as they were all very lovely and talented!"

49th Annual Hopkins County Dairy Festival Queen, Haley Reynolds
presided over the Judge's Dinner, at Southwest Dairy Museum, and
then made her appearance to reign over the reception and pageant.
