District 17-1A Softball
Team Named

 

 

 

In a recent announcement the District 17-1A girls softball team was named with players from Saltillo, North Hopkins, Sulphur Bluff, Cumby and Miller Grove among the ladies honored.

The team is chosen by coaches in the district, following the season.

Superlatives for this year include - Most Valuable Player - Courtney Dunlap, Saltillo; Newcomer of the Year - Taylor Petty, Cumby; Defensive Player of the Year - Tiffney Goldsmith, Saltillo; Co-Offensive Players of the Year - Ragan Rutherford, Saltillo and Courtney Salinas, Cumby; Coach of the Year, Donald Haynes, Saltillo.

In District 17-1A, Saltillo won the district title with a perfect 10-0 record. North Hopkins took second with Cumby finishing in third place.

Pitchers - Karli Brewer, Saltillo; Macy Griner, North Hopkins and Katie Seal, Campbell.
Catchers - Courtney Goldsmith, Saltillo; Samantha Weeks, North Hopkins and Heather Ferguson, Campbell.
Infielders - Erika Mobley, Saltillo; Jordin McQueen, Cheyenne Bolden, North Hopkins; Nicole Hall, Brandie McLane, Miller Grove and Raedeena Sherbenski, Campbell.
Outfielders - Kendall Bain, Victoria Stretcher, Saltillo; Kelley Rumsey,  Haley Flanagan, North Hopkins and Vanessa Cross, Cumby.
Utility Player- Ravyn Simmons, Saltillo and Chelsey Crouch, North Hopkins.
