2011 DBA Art Contest

Art Contest, that have been displayed throughout the downtown area, during the holidays.
What was your favorite artwork displayed downtown, this Christmas Season? Well, the ballots were cast and over 1,000 of you voted for your favorite display, and the winner was Terra Roberts of Sulphur Springs. Terra's nativity scene, located on the corner of Connally and Davis Streets, captured the top votes in the contest. Terra won $250.00 dollars for her efforts and the claim to this year's winning entry.

Second prize and $150.00 in prize money was awarded to Mason Burgin, for his display, located on pole #1, on Main Street, and third prize winner was Riley Hasten, who won a $100.00 prize for his display, that is located on pole #7, on Main Street.

The Downtown Business Association then chose their own "Choice" Award, that was won by local artist, Mike Elliott. Elliott was awarded a $100.00 prize for his depiction of Santa Claus, that is displayed on pole #18, on Connally Street.

Winning the three $50.00 savings bond prizes drawn for participating in this year's contest were: Jaci Reed, Mike Elliott, and Daniel Taylor.
Donating the prizes of the savings bonds were: Alliance Bank, City National Bank, and Guaranty Bond Bank.
