It was a large crowd of local duck hunters and supporters that gathered at the local VFW Post for Thursday night's Ducks Unlimited Banquet and Auction. The night featured a delicious meal, silent and live auctions, as well as a number of raffles, that allowed participants to win hunting related items.

"I'm an avid duck hunter and want to make sure that protections are in place for the sport to continue and for the duck's habitat to be protected," expressed one local hunter. "It's important that we protect the waterways, habitat, and areas that ducks like to land, in their annual migrations. It's all about conservation and making sure that habitat is available for the ducks!"

Thursday night's items for auction included hunting trips, limited edition duck prints, guns, duck calls, hunting accessories, and a large selection of duck related items. "You can decorate your home with many, many of these items," expressed one of the ladies in attendance. "My husband hunts all the time, and I enjoy decorating our home with items that appeal to his hobby!"

"We're what you would call a hunting family," expressed another lady in attendance. "So, it's only natural that we would want to protect the duck habitat and support the sport!"

Funds from Thursday night's auction all go to preserve and protect duck hunting habitat and discourage the encroachment of industry and housing in areas that are critical to the duck's migration and breeding patterns.
