Wildlife enthusiasts have two great opportunities to get out and participate in activities, this Saturday, February 6th. The 15th Annual Eagle Fest, in Emory, is slated with tours to see eagles on Lake Fork. Meanwhile, the organizers of the "Big Nasty Hog Hunt" will be hosting their opening ceremonies, at the Pine Forest Community Center.

Eagle Fest is a great time to travel to our neighboring city of Emory, where tours will be leaving from the Rains Jr. High School, to take you by bus or barge, to see the eagles in their natural habitat on Lake Fork. Additionally, a festival will include live music, Native American dances and art, educational displays, arts & crafts, and food concession. "It's a great day of family fun," advised the organizers. "We'll have a something for everyone!"

For additional information go to www.eaglefest.com or call the Rains County Chamber of Commerce at 1-800-561-1182.

And, in Southeastern Hopkins County, its the Blue Collar Bow Hunters that are sponsoring their second annual "Big Nasty Hog Hunt." Those wanting to enter this year's contest for prizes, should register on Saturday, and come-out and participate in a number of archery games and skilled competitions. There will be a number of exhibitors who will have booths in the Pine Forest Community Center, with the contests being conducted behind the center, according to Jared Brumley, one of the sponsors.

"It will be a great day for bow hunters, to come out, enter the contest, and visit with everyone, while they might find some equipment that they are needing for the hunt," explained Brumley. "We'll have lunch and a number of games for everyone to compete and enjoy!"

Last year, "Willie the Wild Hog" made an appearance, to add fun for the children!
