Tops in Voting Contest

Five Texas Farmers Markets took honors in the 2012 America's Favorite Farmers Market contest sponsored by American Farmland Trust (AFT), with Sulphur Springs Farmers Market surging to the top spot in the Mid-Size Market category. Voting ended at midnight Eastern Daylight Time Monday in the nationwide contest, and winners were declared Thursday morning. Sulphur Springs claimed the top spot in its category with 3,061 votes, more than three times as many as second-place winner Lakeside Farmers Market in Henrico/Richmond, Va.
