Farmer's Market Enjoys Large
Crowd on Saturday

J.R. and Bryant Fisher sack some fresh pinto beans that were raised on
their farm in Reilly Springs, for one of their customers on Saturday
morning.

 

With local produce just now beginning to mature, vendors at Saturday's Farmer's Market, on Main Street, enjoyed a brisk business of local clientle, ready to purchase their goods. "There's been a steady flow of people all day," reported one vendor. "It just seems that everyone has been out enjoying the weather and the wide variety of products that local producers have brought to town!"

 

Fresh bread from the Cibo Vino booth was a popular item, Saturday.

 

Saturday featured the addition of live music, as "bruskers,"The Birthright Blues Project" provided entertainment in a variety of songs and music for everyone's enjoyment. "It's great to have local talent and provides enthusiasm for everyone," allowed one local, Saturday patron. "The music just puts everyone in a festive mood."

"I can't believe that there is such a wide variety of products and goods, in a town the size of Sulphur Springs," exclaimed Jan George, the Official Mayor of Ding Dong, Texas, who was visiting Saturday from the Texas Hill Country. "This is nice and I can't wait to get back home and enjoy these fresh squash and brown eggs!"

Iced coffees, grain-fed beef, honey, seafood, horticultural plants, and about every vegetable imaginable was being offered at Saturday's market.

 


Fresh produce was offered from a variety of venues, at the market.

 

If you haven't been taking advantage of the nice array of produce, make plans to visit next Saturday, to the festive atmosphere that makes beautiful Main Street "come alive!"

 


This locally made soap from the Shirley Community was also a featured item at
Saturday's Farmer's Market.
