Fatal Motorcycle Wreck Claims
Life of Local Man at Birthright,
Early Wednesday Morning

A fatal mortorcycle wreck, in Birthright, early Wednesday morning, claimed the life of 51 year old, Billy Christopher Martel. Martel was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Ronny Glossup at 1:10 a.m. Glossup stated that the accident was still under investigation, by local Department of Public Safety Officers, but that evidence at the scene related that Martel hit his brakes, as he was traveling northbound on Hwy-19, near the Hwy-71 intersection, and skidded down the highway.

Co-workers reported that Martel, an employee of Morningstar, in Sulphur Springs, was on his way home from work, when the accident occurred. He was a resident of the Birthright Community.

No further details have been released from the accident scene. Funeral services are pending for Mr. Martel.
