Sulphur Springs FFA Banquet
Names Top Students

It was a night of celebration and naming of top students for the year, at Sulphur Springs High School, on Thursday night, as the 74th Annual Sulphur Springs FFA Banquet was hosted in the school cafeteria. Chapter officers, led by President Talon Bell, conducted the banquet and recognized the outstanding members of the chapter, in a number of project areas.

This year's Sulphur Springs FFA Chapter Officers were: Bell, President; Colby Parker, Vice-President; Colten Froneberger, Secretary; Kaitlin Maddox, Treasurer; Micah Stalcup, Reporter; Chase Koon, Sentinel;
Harley Wilburn, Student Advisor; Sarah Halter, Parliamentarian; and Ashlin Rosamond, Historian.

Following a Welcome by Chapter Student Advisor, Harley Wilburn and the introduction of guests, by Chapter Treasurer, Kaitlin Maddox, the first award was presented to Dakota Brown, who was the recipient of the Cecil Tucker Memorial Scholarship.

Three FFA Students received the Sterling and Eva Beckham Memorial Scholarship. They were Reese Harred, Colby Parker, and Colton Frazier.


And,
Eddie Lampp, then presented the $1000.00 NETLA Organization Scholarship to Colby Parker.

Greenhand (first year member) Awards were then presented to: Branson Adair, Parker Aguilar, Hunter Allen, Joseph Beabault, Mckrae Bentley, Nathan Brice, Santiago Cortez, Hunter Crowson, Austan Davis, Dallas Edwards, Cole Farmer, Drew Forsman, Lindsey Froneberger, Joseph Hall, Carson Hicks, Clancy Horton, Katherine Johnson, Hayden Joslin, Quinton Joslin, Cindy Law, Jake Lucas, Caitlyn Malone, Mason Mannon,  Daniel McLarry, Jordan McLarry, Keegan Morris, Kasey Moore, Tim Monk, Jacob Neal, Jacob Norfleet, Kayli Nymeyer, Fernando Oritiz, Carly Parker, Jaci Patterson, Adrian Perez, Dalia Perez, Ethan Phillips, Christian Pryor, David Ramsey, Madison Rater, Dylan Reed, Mason Scott, Zach Spigner, Jarred Sutton, Taylor Swinson, Kade Vickery, Hunter Williams, Dillan Wilson, and Ricky Wyly.

Chapter Farmer awards were next presented to students in the second year of the program. Receiving Chapter Farmer Awards were: Veronica Bailey, Tori Dicus, Chelsey Foster, Shelby George, Sarah halter, Kaitlin Maddox, Michala McDaniel, Cade Price, Harley Wilburn, and Nathan Winchester.

The next award presented was the Officer of the Year Award, chosen by the members of the officer team, for the individual who served the team the best during the year. Ashlin Rosamond was chosen for this year's award.

 

Ashlin Rosamond was named Officer of the Year.

 

 

In a highlight of the evening, FFA chapters across the nation present Honorary Chapter Degrees to deserving individuals, be it farmers, educators, businessmen and women, and other supporters. This year the Sulphur Springs Chapter chose Superintendent Patsy Bolton to receive the award for her support of the program for the past eight years. The sited her attendance at every chapter event, her purchase of livestock in the market show, and her support of the FFA Auction, as just some of the reasons for the award.

Chapter advisor, Dannie Johnson, then presented the FFA Proficiency Awards, to the outstanding FFA members in a variety of project areas. Receiving awards were:

It was announced that four members of the chapter had their Proficiency Awards advancing to state competition, in June. They are: Talon Bell, Colten Froneberger, Taylor Swinson, and Madison Rater. Congratulations and best of luck to these outstanding members!

 

FFA Chapter Officers then called their parents up and personally thanked them for their support
throughout the year.


The 74th Annual Sulphur Springs FFA Banquet ended with the official FFA Closing Ceremony, presented by the officer team.
