Peavine Pinion Lake wasn't the most pleasant place to be on Saturday, for the annual Youth Fishing Tournament, sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It was some devoted parents and grandparents that brought their youngsters to the annual event in Buford Park, and it was a group of devoted members of the Kiwanis Club who cooked hot dogs and helped to make the day bearable with a warm fire in their grill.

"It seems like every time we plan a fishing event here at Peavine Pinion Lake, it comes a cold snap!" denoted one of the event planners. "We've had ice across the pond, cold winds, and about any kind of miserable weather, but hopefully the memories for these youngsters is what it is all about! You'll have to hand it to the adult sponsors, who brought their children out, they are a tough group of people!"

"And, the kids were still excited every time they pulled a trout out of the pool!" denoted the organizers. "There's just something about catching a fish that ignites the excitement in a child's face, regardless of the weather!"

"Let's all pray for some great weather for next year's annual event!"
