in Civic Center, Saturday and Sunday

Miller Grove High School cowboy, Dakota Hrabal, waits his turn to compete in the 4-States
High School Rodeo, in the Civic Center, on Saturday.

It was youth from all across Northeast Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, that were at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, for the 4-States High School Rodeo Competition. "It's just great that it is inside and we're not having to compete out in the weather," allowed one of the youth competitiors. "That's the reason that we like to come to Sulphur Springs. It's bad enough to have to have your horses out in the cold, outside!"

And, it was "toasty warm" inside the Civic Center, as the youth waited their turn to compete in events and watched the competition.

This youth competes in Saturday's Pole Bending Event.

Barrel Racing and Pole Bending were being conducted on Saturday, with roping events and other competitions scheduled for Sunday, as youth participated to accumulate points for the finals, that will be held this summer, again in Sulphur Springs.

"This is a wonderful facility and we like to come to Sulphur Springs," allowed one of the parents, with a youth competitor from Louisiana. "It's about a 125 or 150 mile drive for us, but at least, when you get here you know you can sit inside, with the family and enjoy the show!"

Youth and their families were in Hopkins County for the two-day event, staying in motels, eating in our local restaurants, and purchasing needed sundries, boosting our local economy, as they competed in the events!

Roping events were held on Sunday, in the Civic Center.
