The first regular monthly meeting of the Hopkins County Genealogical Society is scheduled for Thursday night, January 19, 2012.B.F. Hicks from Mt. Vernon will be the speaker for the Hopkins County Genealogical Society regular meeting Thursday, Jan. 19. He is chairman of the Franklin County Historical Association and very active in preservation projects. His topic for our meeting will be Scots-Irish research. He will discuss immigration settlement patterns and folkways. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Please come and bring a friend and learn all about your Scotch-Irish heritage.
